Iain Rothwell
Chief Executive Officer

Iain is the Chief Executive Officer with strategic responsibility for the Campus Living Villages Fund and operations in all geographic locations.

Prior to being appointed CEO in December 2007, Iain held the position of Assistant Vice-Chancellor at Macquarie University where his responsibilities included the role of Managing Director of the University’s commercial arm, Access MQ Limited. He has extensive experience in licensing, lease agreements, commercial partnerships and negotiating commercialisation of intellectual property including the establishment of technology ventures. He established the 894 bed student BOOT agreement at Macquarie University and Australia’s first University owned property trust. Iain is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA).

Joanna Wakefield
Chief Financial Officer

Joanna is responsible for the all financial aspects of CLV, budgeting and forecasting through to financial statements and the systems employed to produce this information.

Prior to working at Campus Living Villages, Joanna was the Chief Financial Officer at Babcock & Brown Communities. She joined Babcock & Brown from Stockland, where she was responsible for treasury and tax. She also spent five years working at Colonial First State Property in various senior finance roles, as well as at Perpetual and Lend Lease.

Brigitte Murray
Marketing Director

Brigitte is responsible for marketing, brand and public relations across CLV. She has extensive experience in brand development, marketing, communications, student recruitment, external relations, student accommodation and support and strategic management.

Prior to joining CLV, Brigitte was the Director of Student Recruitment and Development and previously, the Director of Marketing, at the University of Canterbury. In these roles she repositioned and rebranded the University to achieve sustained student growth, and successfully managed the merger of the key functions with the Christchurch College of Education.

Jenifer O'Connor
General Manager Human Resources + Student Life

Jenifer has responsibility for the implementation of CLV’s approach to learning and development – growing our capabilities, employment relations, risk management, environmental sustainability and quality processes.

With over eighteen years experience in both operations and human resources in both the public sector and commercial environments, particularly event tourism and hospitality, Jenifer’s work experience is complemented by post graduate studies in business, leadership and change management.

Tim Weston
Director, Operations

Tim has been at the forefront of the development of new models of student accommodation in Australia. With over 20 years experience in the hospitality industry, and seven years specifically in the area of student housing, Tim offers a wealth of experience and support.

Through his appreciation of student and University needs, Tim contributes to the development of each new and redeveloped village through the design process and the creation of operational and management protocols which reflect the Village’s individual character and requirements.

Michael Doyle
Director, Development

Michael’s depth of experience in project development and construction ensures the timely and cost-effective procurement and delivery of all of our facilities.

Having worked for some of Australia’s largest development and construction companies prior to joining Campus Living Villages in 2005, Michael has overseen the development and delivery of a range of major mixed-use, residential, and commercial projects across Australia and South East Asia.

Ron de Haan
General Manager Operations, Australia

Ron has extensive experience in international hotel management having worked in Asia, Africa, Europe and Australia. Prior to joining CLV in 2004, Ron spent five years working in education and student accommodation in both academic streams and student accommodation.
